By Jim

Fluffy American pancakes from a simple batter of flour, milk, eggs and melted butter. Fried golden in butter and served with maple syrup.
- Servings: 4
- Prep time: 10 min
- Cook time: 20 min
- Total time: 30 min
Ingredients
- 2.5 dl all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 2.5 dl milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp melted butter (or neutral oil)
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar (optional but delicious)
Instructions
- Mix dry ingredients: Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Mix wet ingredients: Whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter in another bowl. Combine the batter: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry. Stir gently—leave a few lumps, as this makes for fluffy pancakes.
- Cook with butter in a skillet over medium heat. Pour in about ½ dl of batter per pancake. Flip at the right moment: when bubbles form on the surface (approx. 1–2 min) → flip. Cook for another 1 minute until golden brown.
- Classic toppings: Maple syrup, butter, bacon.
- Sweet toppings: Fresh berries, whipped cream, powdered sugar.
- Extra decadent: Nutella + banana, salted caramel sauce, toasted nuts.
