Naan Bread

Soft Indian naan bread with yogurt – perfect alongside curry. Makes about 6–8 breads.

Ingredients
- 25 g fresh yeast
- 2.5 dl lukewarm water
- 1 dl plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp oil or melted butter
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 6-7 dl all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Crumble the yeast into a bowl and dissolve it in the lukewarm water.
- Add the yogurt, oil, sugar, and salt.
- Gradually work in the flour until you have a smooth dough.
- Knead the dough for about 5–10 minutes (by hand or using a stand mixer).
- Cover with a tea towel and let the dough rise for about 1 hour.
- Divide the dough into 6–8 pieces and roll each out into oval or round flatbreads.
- Cook the breads in a hot, dry skillet (preferably cast iron) for about 1–2 minutes per side until nicely blistered and browned.
- Optional: Brush with melted butter, crushed garlic, and chopped fresh cilantro for garlic naan.
