BBQ Ribs

Glazed barbecue pork ribs on a board

Tender, fall-off-the-bone ribs slow-cooked to perfection, then glazed and finished with a smoky, tangy BBQ sauce. An ultimate crowd-pleaser for any gathering.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 150°C (300°F).
  2. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs (if present) by gently peeling it off with a paper towel.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper to create a dry rub.
  4. Rub the spice mixture generously all over both sides of the ribs.
  5. Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with foil, or in a large roasting pan. Cover tightly with foil.
  6. Slow cook in the oven for 2.5-3 hours, or until very tender. The exact time depends on the thickness of the ribs.
  7. Remove ribs from the oven. Increase oven temperature to 200°C (400°F) or preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  8. Brush the ribs generously with BBQ sauce. Return to the oven (uncovered) for 15-20 minutes, or grill for 5-10 minutes, flipping once, until the sauce is caramelized and sticky. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
  9. Let ribs rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
