- Total time: 200 min
Ingredients
- 1.5 kg Pork spare ribs or baby back ribs
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 2 tbsp Brown sugar
- 1 tbsp Paprika
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- 0.5 tsp Cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 tsp Salt
- 0.5 tsp Black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 150°C (300°F).
- Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs (if present) by gently peeling it off with a paper towel.
- In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper to create a dry rub.
- Rub the spice mixture generously all over both sides of the ribs.
- Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with foil, or in a large roasting pan. Cover tightly with foil.
- Slow cook in the oven for 2.5-3 hours, or until very tender. The exact time depends on the thickness of the ribs.
- Remove ribs from the oven. Increase oven temperature to 200°C (400°F) or preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Brush the ribs generously with BBQ sauce. Return to the oven (uncovered) for 15-20 minutes, or grill for 5-10 minutes, flipping once, until the sauce is caramelized and sticky. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
- Let ribs rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
